The Netherlands Anticipates Limit on Synephrine in Food Supplements

放大字体  缩小字体 Date:04 Apr 2018  Views:310
Following a control of sport food supplements present on the market, the Dutch authorities want to place a maximum limit on the use of synephrine in food supplements. The compound is often used for weight loss purposes. Synephrine raises blood pressure and may cause harmful effects to the cardiovascular system if consumed in excessive amounts. The authorities confirm that scientific data is lacking to determine a safe dosage, but they are likely to proceed on an indicative maximum level based on the currently available data. An advice will by the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority  (NVWA) follow.
The notice by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport can be found on the following link.
